At Derek Campbell Tyre and Exhaust Centre, we’re always looking for ways to push the boundaries a little and improve the level of service we provide by finding new products that match up to our high standards. Uniflate is one of among our more innovative and sought-after products and it’s been available to general motorists since 1999, so it fits our criteria as an established brand with a proven track record.
Many people we meet have understandably never heard of Uniflate, although those interested in Formula 1 may have come across the name. Way back in 1992, Pneu-Air was formed in Redditch as a result of successful research into creating a viable on-site nitrogen production facility in F1, and ever since Uniflate has thrived, expanding first to become the sole supplier of compressed air to the F1 industry and then going on to find applications fit for general motorists.
Since 1999 drivers throughout the UK have been enjoying the benefits of Uniflate for their tyres every day, including a longer tread life, reduced fuel consumption and a reduced risk of tyre punctures. Quite simply, Uniflate works by using concentrated nitrogen, as opposed to relying on air alone (which contains oxygen and water vapour among other things). Because nitrogen leaks through the structure of the tyre much slower and the resultant decrease is pressure is noticeably slower as a result.
As well as generally improving handling, tyres that have used Uniflate Nitrogen are perfectly safe to use because nitrogen is an inert gas and not a fire hazard. Furthermore, Uniflate’s filter process removes any undesirable elements of regular compressed gas.
In our experience we have found that few products can compete with Uniflate for reliability and efficiency, and it remains the only tyre medium designed exclusively for pneumatic tyre inflation. If you have any questions or concerns, the team here at Derek Campbell Tyre and Exhaust Centre are more than happy to assist you.
It is important to note that, even when using Uniflate, it is vital to continue checking the condition of your tyres to make sure you are not in any danger. Very few people pay a great of attention to the state of their tyres on a day to day basis, and numerous statistics and studies have shown how dangerous this can be.
